The majority of our engineers needed to do a refresher course on Confined Spaces, whilst some of our new engineers needed to complete the training. So on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th February, our engineers completed the City & Guilds, Confined Spaces Course.
What Did Training Cover
On the course the engineers covered the following training:
- Preparing to enter a confined space
- Entering and exiting a confined space
- Dealing with emergencies
- Acting as a topman-entry point controller
- Giving emergency aid
- Maintaining safe work procedures for the work being done
- Use of compressed air breathing apparatus
These qualifications are for those who have to enter, supervise or manage confined spaces. This could be to carry out work, as a top man supporting entry or conducting emergency rescue and recovery.
Fully Trained in Confined Spaces
Over the weekend they completed practical and theory work, and whilst they enjoyed themselves along the way, they were able to learn a lot and therefore all of our engineers passed the course and are now full trained in Confined Spaces.
